Yolanda Patricia "Yula" Zeno

Yolanda Patricia “Yula” Zeno, 95, of Dennison, passed away at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, after a period of declining health. Born March 17, 1920 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Carmela (Mazzola) Civiello.

Yula was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison throughout her life. She was active in its Altar Society and retired as their church secretary after having previously served as the secretary for Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School. She was a 1938 graduate of Dennison High School and a gifted seamstress who will be remembered for her beautiful creations.

On July 8, 1950, Yula married Joseph John Zeno, Sr., with whom she enjoyed nearly 64 years of marriage until his passing on April 28, 2014. They are survived by children, Goldie (Kenneth) Host of Dennison, Sara Black of Columbus, and Joseph J. (Vickie) Zeno, Jr. of Dover; grandchildren, Marie Fellers, John Fulton, Kelley Host, Kendra Host, Kraig Host, Jessica Matroni, and Joshua Zeno; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Yula is also survived by her siblings, Polly Pifer and Guido Civiello; sister-in-law, Pauline Civiello; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Her family wish to extend their deep appreciation to her devoted, longtime caregivers, Annette, Janice, Patty, Kelly and Mitzi. They are also grateful for the professional and compassionate care that Yula received while at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center and Trinity Hospital Twin City.

In addition to her parents and husband, Yula was preceded in death by a daughter, Carinda Mary Zeno; grandson, Kenny Host, Jr.; and siblings, Lucy Campo, Joe Civiello, Mary Ross, Carmen Civiello, Carinda Polilli, Gene Civiello, and Anthony Civiello, as well as 3 young siblings.

Father Anthony Lonzo will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, with a Christian Wake service 7:45 p.m. to conclude the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
