Winifred Charlene “Winnie” Freeman, 81, of Newcomerstown, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 31, 1934 to the late Willard Franklin and Alberta Ruth (Wise) Reneker.
On February 19, 1977, she married George Freeman with whom she enjoyed nearly 33 years of marriage until his passing on November 14, 2010. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Kathy) Ross with whom she had resided, Harry Dean (Phyllis) Ross of Gnadenhutten and Kevin (Debbie) Ross of Strasburg; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Reneker; sister-in-law, Jackie Reneker; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Van, Louis and Roy Reneker, and a sister-in-law, Linda Reneker, who was like a sister to her.
Winnie was a resident of Tuscarawas County throughout her life and was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville. She devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, and she deeply loved her family who were the whole world to her.
In keeping with Winnie’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. She will be interred in New Cumberland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
