In her younger years, she managed a local grocery store in Dennison and later worked for Sales Department Store in Uhrichsville. She retired from Miller’s Clothing in New Philadelphia after many years of faithful employment.

On February 22, 1946, Jean married Kenneth L. Morrison, Sr. who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their son, Kenneth L. (Diane) Morrison, Jr. of Gnadenhutten; daughter, Connie (Ted) Quillen of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Kenny L. (Melissa) Morrison, III and Lorie (Dick) Affolter of Gnadenhutten, and Shelly (Brian) Burdette and Kelly (Brandon) Milburn of Newport; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Jean’s surviving family is completed by a brother, Ronnie (Sissie) Garbrandt of Texas; three sisters, Beverly (Junior) Jarvis of Tuscarawas, Patty Smith of Uhrichsville and Donna Diehl of Dover; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Haney; three brothers, Richard, Junior and Bobby Garbrandt; and a great-granddaughter.

In keeping with Jean’s wishes, no public visitation is planned. A family graveside service, officiated by Pastor Tom Klaserner, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, in Gnadenhutten’s Clay Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
