Wilda Gay Langdon

January 11, 1940 — February 22, 2014

Wilda Gay Langdon, 74, of Uhrichsville, passed away on February 22, 2014 at Union Hospital. Born on January 11, 1940 she was a daughter of the late Carl Clifford and Esther May (Parcell) Shamel.

Wilda attended Dennison High School; she was a nurse’s aid and also worked in senior citizen transportation. She enjoyed many things in life including, cooking, crocheting, playing cards, painting, and yard sales, although her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She attended Foursquare Gospel Church in Dennison.

Wilda was the kind of person who could always see the good in others; she never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she went. Through out her life, Wilda met adversity with a smile and always brought joy everywhere she went.

On March 29, 1960 she married Robert C.E. Langdon who preceded her in death on June 28, 1995, they are survived by a son, Carl (Patricia) Langdon of Dennison; a daughter; Bobbie (James) Syler of Dover; grandchildren, Holly (Randy) Blazer, Kimberly (Ed) McIntyre, Bobby (Bethany) Syler, Caitlin (Dakota) McFarland, and Jeffrey Hart; and two great grandchildren, Mia and Max McIntyre; and a son-in-law Charles Hart.

In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Hart.

Services for Wilda, officiated by Pastor Rod Phillips will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday February 26 at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will following beside her beloved husband in Gnadenhutten’s Clay Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
