Wilbert E. Kiggins, Jr.

Wilbert Edward Kiggins, Jr., 64, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, after a period of declining health. Born April 9, 1951 in Cleveland, he was a son of the late Wilbert Edward Kiggins, Sr. and Opal Irene (Dennis) Kiggins. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary L. Kiggins who died October 2, 2013, and a sister, Wanda Combs.

Wilbert was a 1970 graduate of Buckeye High School in Valley City, Ohio and worked for many years as a mechanic. He retired from the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by his daughters, Victoria (Bill) Shaw of Uhrichsville and Julie (Dan) Simon of Saline, Michigan; stepchildren, Dave (Jennifer) McClafferty of Medina, Debbie (Erik) Csongedi of Parma, and Michele (Tom) Bankosh of Claridge, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Coty, Alicia, Olivia, Brooke, Olivia, Sophia, Chayse, Drevin, Alaina, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Kyrsten, Haley, and Vanessa; brother, Ron Webb; and a number of nieces.

In keeping with Wilbert’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663-9367.
