Wesley David O’Hara, 58, of Dennison, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, at University Hospital in Cleveland, from complications following surgery. Born November 17, 1956 in Dennison, he was a son of Dave and Charlene (Cherrington) O’Hara of Dennison.
Wes was a lifelong Dennison resident and a 1975 graduate of Claymont High School where he is well remembered for his athletic accomplishments during his high school career. He was a sports fan throughout his life, especially for Claymont and Ohio State Football, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. He also had a deep love for animals and cherished his dogs, Skippy and Gator.
In addition to his parents, Wes is survived by his loving companion of 42 years, Sue Stucin, of the home; brothers, John (Lisa) O’Hara, Monty (Mary) O’Hara, and Matt (Vikki) O’Hara; sister, Becky (Marc) Vermillion; 9 nieces and nephews; 4 great-nephews; uncle, Keith O’Hara; stepson, Robert (Jessica) Stucin; step-grandchildren, Alexis, Ashton, and Caiden; step-great-grandchildren, Xavier and Trenton; and sisters-in-law, Patty Howell, Beth Stucin, Susan Stucin, and Gretchen Stucin. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Billy and Gary Stucin and Walter Howell.
Services, officiated by Rev. Henry Mooney, will be held at 3pm on Monday, June 29, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Claymont Athletic Boosters or to the donor’s favorite charity for the benefit of animals. Wes’ family wish to offer special thanks to R.N. Mary Penkno and Dr. Anthony Post, as well as the staff of University Hospital Cleveland.
