Wendy S. Clelland

Wendy Sue Clelland, 53, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after an extended period of declining health. Born July 21, 1967 in Dover, Ohio, she was a daughter of Roy Junior Potts, Sr. and Lois Carol (Tylke) Potts of Dover.

Wendy was a 1986 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye Career Center before moving to South where she lived in Georgia and North Carolina until returning to New Philadelphia several years ago. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed doing crafts and attending Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

On June 5, 1987, Wendy married James Todd Clelland who survives her at their home, along with their son, Todd Michael Clelland. She is also survived by her half-brothers, Roy Junior (Melinda) Potts, Jr., Jake Potts, and John Edwin Rummes; half-sister, Sara (Jeremy) Potts Conway; and many nieces and nephews, in addition to her parents. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Marie Potts; paternal grandfather, Jake Potts; and maternal grandparents, John and Wilma Tylke.

According to Wendy’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. She will be interred in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
