Wayne E. Host

February 2, 1946 — February 27, 2021

Wayne E. Host, 75, of Bowerston, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 27, 2021. Born in Dennison on February 2, 1946, he was a son of the late Charles Curtis and Mary Hazel (Copeland) Host.

A 1964 graduate of Conotton Valley High School, Wayne was a resident of the Bowerston area throughout his life, with the exception of the time that he proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After several years in the local claypipe industry, he spent much of his career at Duplex where he was a foreman. He will be remembered as a talented handyman who could fix anything and was always ready to go above and beyond for any friend or family member. He enjoyed trips to Wheeling with his brothers, was an avid baseball and football fan, and loved to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Wayne is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Goldie) Host, Charles “Tom” (Barb) Host, and Robert Host with whom he had resided; two sisters; two uncles, Dean Copeland and George (Shirley) Copeland; a sister-in-law, Bootsie Host; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Lisa Custer and Rob Host with whom he was especially close. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold “Keith” Host.

According to Wayne’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
