Waverly M. Bethel, 70, of Uhrichsville passed away on January 10, 2015 following a lengthy illness. Born on July 26, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Ronald Eugene McQueen and Olive (Horn) Mishler.
Waverly loved sewing and baking and was always known for her homemade spaghetti and meatballs. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent entertaining her grandchildren. She was Christian by faith.
In August of 1971 she married Trevison James Bethel who survives her of their home. She is also survived by her children, Joyce (Shawn) Miller of Strasburg, Karen (Rocky) Kennedy of Philippi, WV, Donald Dalton, Jr. of WV, and Glenn (Emily) Dalton, Jr. of Philippi, WV; stepchildren, Larry (Gloria) Bethel of Canton, Sonny (Cheryl) Bethel of Columbus, and Tim Bethel of New Philadelphia; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul (Jean) Mishler, Linda (James) Terry, Twila Mathias, and Patty Marshall; dear friends, Joan Devore and Wanda Romig; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Bethel; son, Billy Dalton; granddaughter, Kathy Kennedy; stepfather, Howard Mishler; and siblings, Joann Rennicker and Betty Johnson.
Services for Waverly, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday January 13, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
