Wanda’s family moved to the Twin City area when she was a young child, and she was a 1957 graduate of Dennison High School. On June 21, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart and lifelong love, Daniel Bertram “Bert” Romig, with whom she was blessed to share nearly 61 years of marriage before his passing on June 10, 2018. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who in her later years also was a local pastor, officiating many weddings and funerals. She was a longtime member of Bethel Worship Center in Uhrichsville where she was a former Sunday School teacher and enjoyed the fellowship of her faithful church family.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Amy (Lee) Luxemburg and Martin (Margie) Romig; grandchildren, Jessica (Stephen) Hecker, Samantha Luxemburg, Rachael Legg, Heather Luxemburg, Christopher Archuleta Jr., and Steven Archuleta; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Linda) Sparks; numerous nieces and nephews; and her many, many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Alma and Merlin Miser.
Pastor John Stevenson will officiate her funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and all who attend are kindly asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Charitable contributions honoring Wanda’s memory may be made to Bethel Worship Center, in lieu of flowers.
