A lifelong resident of the area, Wanda was a 1975 graduate of Indian Valley North. She was a school bus driver for several area districts for over 13 years, was employed by Burger King on the boulevard and, most recently, was delighted to have started a new position at Trinity Hospital Twin City in their kitchen. She was a member of $1.25 Andy Griffith Club, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia where she was active in the Good Shepherd Ministry.
In addition to her parents, Wanda is survived by her husband of ten years, Duane Murphy; son, Brian (Tina) Leslie of Port Washington; grandchildren, Brandon and Brianna Leslie; siblings, Roger (Peggy) Leslie, Jim (Dana) Leslie, Loretta (Mark) Johnson, and Stephanie (Gary) Byrd; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
In keeping with Wanda’s wishes, she has been cremated. A memorial service, officiated by Brother Dave Millard, will be held at 2pm on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia with calling for an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church’s Good Shepherd Ministry and the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
