Vivian Marie Roahrig

Vivian Marie Roahrig, 96, of Dillonvale, formerly a lifelong Twin City resident, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville. Born September 22, 1920 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Harry McKinley and Ida Belle (Garbrandt) LeMonte.

On July 15, 1939, Vivian married Raymond Everett Roahrig with whom she enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing on October 18, 1996. They are survived by a daughter, Rae Allene Foster of Texas; son, Stacey Roahrig and his companion, Dora Horvat, with whom Vivian had resided; 9 grandchildren, Donald, Mark, Raymond, Tina, Susan, Donald, Shannon, Lori Ann and Cindy; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Harry LeMonte and his wife, Elizabeth, of Alabama; sister, Clara Clark of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Everett Roahrig; son, Frederick Blaine Roahrig; 2 grandsons; brothers, William, James, Lawrence, Charles, Ralph and Robert LeMonte; and sisters, Dorothy Waites, Dolly Korns, Cecilia LeMonte and Mary Vosick.

Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who had also worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad shop yards during World War II. She was raised in the Presbyterian faith and had recently been baptized in the Smithfield Friends Evangelistic Church. She was a former member of the Uhrichsville Women of the Moose who, in her younger years, enjoyed spending time with her many friends in her card clubs.

According to Vivian’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service and will be interred with her mother in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
