Vivian Lucille Donohoe

Vivian Lucille Donohoe, 77, of New Philadelphia, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Born September 23, 1940 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Hill and Dorothy (Burroway) Golec.

Vivian was a 1958 graduate of Uhrichsville High School before attending National Beauty College in 1959. She retired from McDonald’s Offices in 2012, having previously worked at Hart’s in New Philadelphia. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Vivian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her many friends.

On June 16, 1962, she married Matthew Gerard Donohoe with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing on July 1, 2012. They are survived by three children, Beth (William) Schumacher, Stacy (companion, Mike Leone) Donohoe and Matthew (Shari) Donohoe; grandchildren, William and Katherine Schumacher, Jack Witte, and Ella and Emmy Donohoe; many nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Gary Hill, and an infant daughter, Margaret Ellen Donohoe.

Father Martin J. Ralko will celebrate the funeral Mass on Monday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison and will conclude with a 6:45 p.m. Christian Wake Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
