Vivian M. Corbin, 84, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. Born August 26, 1926 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Emmett and Mary Jane (Schrader) Snodgrass.
Vivian’s surviving family includes two sons, Robert Corbin and his companion, Sue Dingman, and Dale Corbin and his companion, Debbie Robinson, of Uhrichsville; a daughter, Georgia Abel of Uhrichsville; a sister, Gertrude Carter of Cadiz; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Linda Sanders and Josie Boughner; two brothers; and four sisters.
In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker, Vivian had worked for the former Scio Pottery as well as for an area nursing home. In her spare time, she enjoyed working puzzle books, gardening, and spending time with her friends at the Uhrichsville Eagles where she was a member of the ladies’ auxiliary.
Services for Vivian, officiated by Pastor Michael C. Travis, will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 11:00 a.m. in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
