Virginia Garbrandt

June 13, 1930 — September 18, 2009

Virginia Faye “Ginny” Garbrandt, 79, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, following a lengthy illness.

Born June 13, 1930 in Erbacon, W.V., she was a daughter of the late William Raymond and Myrtle Ora (McCourt) Crites.

A resident of this area for much of her life, Ginny was a graduate of Bowerston High School in the class of 1948. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she had been a ward clerk at Twin City Hospital for twenty-eight years until her retirement in 2007.

Ginny was a longtime member of Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church where she had been a deacon for a number of years. She enjoyed “Bingo, Bobby and Bowling” as she always liked to say, and she loved playing softball, as well. She was a former member of the Uhrichsville Moose Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Hey Jack Sportsman’s Club Ladies’ Auxiliary.

On July 2, 1948, Ginny married Robert Garbrandt, her Bobby with whom she enjoyed over sixty-one years of marriage. They were blessed with three sons, Thomas W. Garbrandt and his wife, Sandra, of Newport, Michael W. Garbrandt of Midvale and Eric W. Garbrandt who preceded her in death; a daughter, Lori Lynn Kadri of the home; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara and Mildred, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her son and her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

In keeping with Ginny’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Uhrichsville Presbyterian Church.
