Virginia A. Davis

February 14, 1942 — December 28, 2025

Port St. Joe, Florida

Virginia “Ginny” A. Davis (née Harrison), formerly Pastor, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Maplewood Assisted Living Community in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Ginny was born on February 14, 1942, in Litchfield, Ohio, to George B. Harrison and Rosaria C. Harrison. She was a 1960 graduate of Buckeye High School in Medina, Ohio. She began raising her family in Akron before settling in Green, Ohio, where she devoted herself to her role as a mother of four boys while also building a diverse and hardworking career.

Over the years, Ginny worked as a school bus driver, a welder, and later as a hospital pharmacy technician at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron. She retired in 2001 to Port St. Joe, Florida, where she briefly continued her work in hospital pharmacy services.

Ginny had a deep love for plants and flowers and found great joy in gardening. She was also a devoted animal lover and treasured the many cats and dogs that were part of her family throughout the years.

Above all else, Ginny’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—biological and step—were everything to her. She cherished them deeply and took immense pride in each of their lives. Family was always at the heart of who she was.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Richard “Dick” Davis; her son, Dana Pastor; her stepdaughter, Tawny Davis and her husband, Keith Bruno; her parents, George B. and Rosaria C. Harrison; and her brother and sister-in-law, George and Pat Harrison.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Pastor, Christopher Pastor (Marilyn Rozak), and Matthew Pastor (Keli). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Maxx Pastor and Aubrey Pastor, and her great-grandchild, Maverick Pastor.

Ginny is also survived by her stepchildren Kirk Davis (Cheryl) and Kelly Davis (Justine); and by her step-grandchildren, Lex Davis, Andrew Davis, Abigail Davis, Skye Bruno, Sophia Bruno, Savannah Bruno, Brittany O’Hara, Kaitlin Reyes, Kyle Davis, and Emma Davis, as well as her step-great-grandchildren, Lainey, Liam, Collin, and Nico.

A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in the spring at St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas, Ohio, where her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her husband, Dick.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, 1929 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44313, in honor of Ginny’s lifelong love of animals.
