Violet E. Green

Violet Eileen Green, 102, of Stow, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Born August 24, 1915 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late David L. and Florence (Schumaker) Williams. The last of her family’s generation, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Parcell, John E. Williams, Sr., David F. Williams, Catherine Williams, Anna Mae Bobzien, Rose Arlene Scott (her twin), Eugene Williams, and John Williams, Jr.

Vi was a 1933 graduate of Dennison High School and a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville. On August 25, 1936, she married James R. Green with whom she enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing on October 18, 1994. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including Cindy (Dennis) Eiland with whom she had resided for the past two years, Kay Scott, Harold Bobzien, Susie Kwaitek, Jane Demaree and David Williams.

In keeping with Vi’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. Rev. Larry Malterer will officiate a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church and Summa At Home Hospice.
