Vera I. Bretz

Vera I. Bretz, 80, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at her home, following a lengthy illness.

Born October 20, 1928 in Tuscarawas, O., she was a daughter of the late Clyde Linwood and Tacy Marie (Smith) Jenkins.

A resident of Uhrichsville since 1966, Vera was raised in the Tippecanoe and Freeport area. She was a member of the Piedmont-Moorefield Twp. Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, she was employed by Ember Home Care from 1983 to 1993 and had previously worked for West Family Homes from 1981 to 1983.

In 1974, Vera married Bruce E. Bretz who preceded her in death on July 11, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Edward Frizzell; a brother, Ernest Jenkins; a sister, Bernice Kirkbride; and two infant brothers.

Vera’s surviving family includes a daughter, Judy Dailey of Byesville, O.; two sons, Dale Frizzell and his wife, Sharon, of Uhrichsville and Jerry Frizzell with whom she had resided; four grandchildren, Tammy Stillion and her husband, Brad, of Byesville, Billye LaCroix and her husband, Dwayne, of Senecaville, Thomas R. Dailey, II and his wife, Bobbi-Jo, of Marysville, and Matthew Frizzell and his wife, Dawn, of Uhrichsville; and great grandchildren, Kayd, Gavin, Brayden, Savannah Rose, Grant and Abbye.

Vera is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Blake, of Cadiz and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Vera, officiated by Pastor Jeff Parson, will be held on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Freeport’s Greenmont Cemetery with her parents.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday December 8, 2008 at the funeral home. Those wishing to honor Vera’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the charity of their choice.
