Valeria Barbara Basiletti

Valeria Barbara Basiletti, 87, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born March 21, 1927, in Dossenheim, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Maria (Beeser) Ridinger.

On June 7, 1947, in Heidelberg, Germany, Valeria married the love of her life, Venanzio Basiletti, who survives her at their home. She is also survived by their children, Ilona Anderson of Flagstaff, Arizona and Roger (Chris) Basiletti of Massillon; granddaughters, Leidy (Pieter) van Ispelen of Salt Lake City, Utah and Cara (Michael) Lipinski; great-grandchildren; Caelum, Eridani and Solin van Ispelen and Brandon, Ryan and Carson Lipinski; sister, Maria Karsunke of Germany; and many nieces and nephews. Her other sister, Francisca, preceded her in death.

A resident of Uhrichsville for over 65 years, she was a longtime, faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she will also be remembered for her many years as a waitress at Bonvechio’s in Wainwright and seven years as a volunteer for Community Hospice.

At Valeria’s own request, she has been cremated without a public visitation. Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral mass on Friday, January 9, at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
