Tracy Matthew Salsberry

Tracy Matthew Salsberry, 53, of Strasburg, passed away at Union Hospital while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, after a sudden illness. Born September 17, 1962 in Dennison, he was a son of the late John William and Shirley Jean (Starkey) Salsberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Salsberry, and a brother, John M. “Mickey” Salsberry.

A resident of the Freeport area for much of his life, Tracy loved working in the outdoors and had been a farm worker and handyman until his health prevented him. He loved hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Tracy is survived by a brother, Dale Salsberry; sisters, Sara (Robert) Sisley, Carlotta Gibson, Della (Tom) Coverdale, Ginger (fiancé, Steve Smart) Salsberry and Jodie (John) Morris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Tracy’s wishes, he will cremated without a public visitation or service.
