Thurman Welsch, 95, of Uhrichsville, O., formerly of Dennison, O., passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Uhrichsville, following a lengthy illness.
Born November 15, 1914 in Newport, O., he was a son of the late Daniel and Maude Mariah (Fowler) Welsch.
A resident of the Twin Cities area for most of his life, Thurman attended the Ohio School for the Blind in Columbus in his youth. He was an active member of Dennison Church of God until his health prevented him.
Thurman’s surviving family includes seven nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew, Mrs. Ralph (Charlotte) Crider of Sommersfield, Fla. and Terry Sloan and his wife, Elizabeth, of Harrison Township, Mich.; and many great nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chalmer and Cletus Welsch; and three sisters, Wanda and Phyllis VanScyoc, and Gladys C. Baldwin.
No public visitation or service is planned. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia with his parents. Those wishing to honor Thurman’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Dennison Church of God, in lieu of flowers.
