Thomas J. Snively, Sr., 76, of Gnadenhutten, Ohio went home to be with his beloved wife, Glenna I. Snively, on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He was born December 3, 1939 in Carrollton, Ohio to the late Wilbur S. and Mable J. (Howell) Snively. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in the coal mine for many years before becoming a self-employed truck driver for many years. Tom was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour and loved watching westerns. He was loved by many, and he never met a stranger.
Thomas is survived by his 5 children, Tom (Vickie) Snively of Gnadenhutten, Carol (Joe) Haynes of Gnadenhutten, Richard (Vonda) Snively, Mary Snively and Tom Clark of Pleasant City, and Debbie (Dave) Hursey; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He has one surviving brother, Don Snively of Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, Wilbur and Mable Snively, Tom is also preceded in death by siblings, Bob Snively, Velma Booth, Louise Cross, and Pete Snively. Tom’s final wish was that you don’t vote for Hilary Clinton.
Pastor Jimmy Stull will officiate a 1pm service on Saturday, October 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation for two hours prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover with a military committal service.
