Thomas M. Ruth, 64, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, Ohio, after a sudden illness. His final act of generosity was to give the gift of life through organ and/or tissue donation. Born December 20, 1960 in Alliance, Ohio, he was a son of the late Theodore Lee and Judith Ann (O’Donnell) Ruth.
A resident of Uhrichsville for the past 34 years, Tom had grown up in Alliance and was a graduate of Alliance High School. Since the age of 14, he had worked as a painter and paper hanger, enjoying a 50-year career in the industry. He loved baseball in all its forms, especially umpiring for Little League in Wainwright and Midvale and cheering on the Cleveland Indians. He was also a fan of the Cleveland Browns. Tom spent many happy days on summer camping trips with his wife and enjoyed fishing.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Lori D. (Brown) Ruth; their son, Ryan (Sarah) Ruth; granddaughter, Lily; his siblings, Tina (Doug) Hayden and Tim Ruth; many nieces and nephews, including Katie (Curt) King with whom he was especially close; his aunt and uncle, Sandy and Don Hansen; and numerous cousins. He also leaves behind his canine girls, Sophia, Lexis, and Abby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Ruth, and grandparents, Dolly and Sam Macaione and Alice Ruth.
According to Tom’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society and Ohio’s Hospice Foundation.
