Thomas Eugene Pickens

Thomas Eugene Pickens, 86, of Dennison, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia. Born October 27, 1931 in Bellaire, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harold and Mary (Lopeman) Pickens. Tom was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and a 1949 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had several careers over the years.

On September 4, 1976, he married the former Constance Lou Hall who survives him. He is also survived by sons, Thomas J. (Mariah) Pickens, Michael J. (Kristi) Pickens and Howard (Karen) Poorman; grandchildren, Brayden, Aaliyah, Craig, Zachary (Jordan), Carly (Jon) and Hannah (Jordan); sisters, Rita Brindley, Donna (Ronnie) Ross and Janet (Dick) Bargar; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Karl, William and Harry Busch.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. A private, family graveside service, officiated by Father Tyron Tomson, will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison with a military committal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church and Crossroads Hospice.
