Thomas Edward Lorenz, 74, of Uhrichsville, passed away at Community Hospice Truman House on February 24, 2024 following a lengthy illness. Born February 2, 1950 in Millersburg, he was a son of the late Edward Gottlieb and Edna Marie (Thomas) Lorenz. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lorenz.
Tom graduated from Garaway High School in 1968 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy for 6 years followed by the Army National Guard for 9 years. He was a tire technician for many local businesses, including Capital Tire, Ziegler, Flynn Tire, and Millersburg Tire. Tom enjoyed woodworking, karaoke, going to car shows and truck pulls, and he was Lutheran by faith.
On February 21, 1998, he married Karen Sue (Lendon) who survives him. Also surviving are his children, Thomas Lorenz, II, Jennifer Lorenz, Tiffany Sica; stepchildren, Dave (Lori) Fouts, Jr., Michael Fouts, Crystal Fouts, and Greg Fouts; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Becky) Lorenz and Sharon (Larry) Fender; sister-in-law, Mae Lorenz; and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Tom, officiated by Pastor Brett Warkentine, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 29, at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Veterans.
