Thelma Irene Davis

Thelma Irene Davis, 75, of Dover, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 12, 1939 in Bellaire, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Robert Jones and Mary (Sinnette) Jones Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Davis, Sr. to whom she was married on June 7, 1958, and her brothers, Chuck, Ronnie, Kenny and Raymond Jones.

A resident of Tuscarawas County for most of her life, Thelma was employed by several area companies including Rich Industries and Belden Brick. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to Bingo at the Dennison Knights of Columbus Hall with her friends.

Thelma is survived by her children, Cindy (Mike) Larkin of New Philadelphia, James A. (Julie) Davis, Jr. of New Philadelphia, Angela (fiancé, Greg O’Bradovich) Hahn of Canton, and Christina Davis of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tessa, Tisha, Corey, Casie, Calissa, and Alycia; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Dominic, Aryabella, Arian, and Colton, with another expected in November; sister, Jane (Joe) Carney; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Mary, Annie, and Avery.

In keeping with Thelma’s wishes, a graveside service, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, March 28, (today) in East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
