Terry L. Wells

November 17, 1952 — January 18, 2025

Terry Lee Wells, 72, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Born November 17, 1952 in Wooster, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ralph James and Geraldine (Henderson) Wells. Terry grew up in Scio, Ohio and was a 1970 graduate of Scio High School before proudly serving his country in the U. S. Navy. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and was deployed to Vietnam as a sailor aboard the U.S.S. Edward. He furthered his education at Kent State Tuscarawas where he earned an associate’s degree in engineering. On March 19, 1977, Terry married the former Janet Lee Cerana with whom he enjoyed 42 years of marriage until her passing on November 10, 2019. They are survived by their son, Phillip Wells; daughters, Jessica Wells and Marlena (Andy) Dean; grandchildren, Beaux Wells, Paige Wells, Lane Wells, Tenley Dean, Ariyah Dean, Laynee Dean, and Vivian Wells; and great-grandchildren, Paxtyn Bunting and Brindley Wells. Terry is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ann (Roy) Wilson and Carol Sue Wells-Baker; sister-in-law, Mary Anne Kerlin; and many nieces and nephews. A resident of Dennison since 1993, Terry had been a hydraulic specialist at Hennings, then Morgantown Machine. He loved to read and also enjoyed watching sports – being an ardent fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Terry enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, and he loved going for walks, especially with his dear canine companion, Gizmo. In keeping with Terry’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation. His family will celebrate his life on a future date. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring his memory may be made to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd. N.E., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
