Stella Ruth Clark, 86, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at The Cleveland Clinic following a sudden illness. Born October 1, 1924 in Kaymore, Fayette Co., West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Rufus Wallace and Stella Mae (Ingles) Holstein.
She was married to Boyd Clark on May 16, 1942 and enjoyed over fifty-two years of marriage with him until his passing on November 29, 1994. They were blessed with four sons, Ronald Boyd Clark and his wife, Cindy, of Adena, Richard D. Clark and his wife, Shauna, of Cadiz, Donald A. Clark and his wife, Connie, of Uhrichsville with whom she had resided, and Dennis L. Clark who preceded her in death; seven grandchildren who survive her and two who preceded her in death; and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Wilma Jane Dean and her husband, Ervin, of Piedmont, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, husband, and two grandchildren, Ruth was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Bradley and Faye Sexton, and five brothers, Elden, Rufus, Bill, Edward, and Dennis Holstein.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who loved caring for her family and her home. She enjoyed travel and the outdoors, but took special joy in being with her family whom she treasured above all else. She was a longtime member of the Uhrichsville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. A private family graveside service will be held at her interment beside her beloved husband in Longview Cemetery at New Athens, O.
