Stella Jean Ellwood

Stella Jean Ellwood, 82, of Uhrichsville, died at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Born September 27, 1934 in Barton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Susan Jean (McAllister) Applegarth.

On December 5, 1952, Stella married William O. Ellwood who survives her along with their children, William Ellwood, Jr., Betty “Cookie” (Mike) Howell, Jackie (Terry) Dowdel and Eva (Ronald) Tinney; grandchildren, Sean, Mike Jr., April, Carlene, Douglas, Elizabeth, Jodie and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Joshua, Shannon, Jacob, Alexius, Brooke, Courtney, Gavin, Aubrey, Austin, Hunter, Skylar, Trinity; great-great-grandchildren, Averie, Rilynn and London; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel, 4 brothers and a sister.

Stella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also worked in dietary for several area facilities. In keeping with her wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service.
