Shirley Jean Biechler

Shirley Jean Biechler, 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia on Monday, March 7, 2016, after a bravely fought battle with cancer. Born July 15, 1947 in Dover, she was a daughter of Norma Jean (Charnock) Cerana of Uhrichsville and the late Pio Cerana, Jr. and was a lifelong resident of the area. Shirley was a 1965 graduate of Dennison High School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville who enjoyed being one of the Red Hat Ladies.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughters, Marcie (Erik) Kendall, Tara (David) Korosi and Tammy (Brian) Gawlak; grandchildren, Andrew and Andrea Kendall, Zachary and Caleb Korosi, and Ethan, Logan and Braylan Gawlak; sisters, Donna (Gene) Shepherd and Karen Cerana; several nieces and nephews; her companion, Dennis Richards; and her former spouse, Donald Biechler. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve and David Cerana, as well as her father.

Services, officiated by Pastor Larry Malterer, will be held at 11am on Friday, March 11, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Dover Burial Park. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church and Community Hospice.
