Sheryl A. Colletti

September 6, 1945 — January 17, 2025

Sheryl A. Colletti, 79, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Born September 6, 1945 in Dover, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Richard R. and Edna (Narney) Waters.

A lifelong area resident, Sheryl was a 1963 graduate of Uhrichsville High School. On March 12, 1966, she began her life’s greatest calling as she married Nicholas J. Colletti with whom she would be blessed with three sons, Scott (Laci) Colletti, Brian Colletti, and Tom Colletti; five beloved grandchildren, Bree, Alexis (Kasen Arnold), Austin, Ethan, and Noah Colletti; and her special “adopted” granddaughter, Nevaeh. She is also survived by her sister, Vickie Matheson, many nieces and nephews, and her dear feline companion, Pookie, whom she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, Sheryl was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Jr., Tom, and Sandy, as well as her parents-in-law, Margaret “Moonie” and Nicholas Colletti.

Sheryl’s life was defined by her love for and dedication to her family and friends. She was a natural born caregiver and helped many other families for over 50 years. She loved babysitting for her grandchildren and neighborhood children, and she delighted in going to her grandkids’ events.

Many will remember her for her marvelous baked creations, especially the cookie trays that she baked and distributed to friends and family each Christmas season. Each year she looked forward to the sunflowers that grew in her garden in the summer and the bluebirds that would visit her home to feast on the seeds. Sheryl’s grandchildren will treasure many memories of her, including her passion for DQ Blizzards with “chocolate dope” that they would share.

According to Sheryl’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public viewing. Her family will celebrate her life on a future date. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Alzheimer’s Association, in lieu of flowers.
