August 14, 1942 — January 14, 2013

Sandra S. “Sandy” Cox, 70, of Enon, Ohio, passed away on January 14, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. Born August 14, 1942 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Donald G. “Skeet” and Helen Jean (Dyson) Huston.

Sandy grew up in the Twin City area where she attended Park Christian Church and was a graduate of Dennison High School in the class of 1960. After high school, she attended cosmetology school in Reynoldsburg before returning home to work as a beautician for Jean Watt for several years. In recent years, she loved babysitting for children whom she cared for like they were her own.

On September 14, 1963, she married M. Sgt. Albert Timothy “Tim” Cox, beginning her life as a loving and devoted Army wife who traveled with him wherever he was posted. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1993. They are survived by two daughters, Kellie A. (Brian) Lowe of Fairborn, Ohio and Holly J. Cox of Enon; and grandchildren, Chelsea Cox, Kacie Combs, Geoffrey Lowe, Taylor Lowe, and Airman Deric Lowe. Sandy is also survived by her brother, Donald E. “Red” Huston of Uhrichsville; a dear aunt, Mary “Aunt MeMe” Grant; many nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Scott Huston, Jackie (Ray) Moulton, Kevin Huston, and Troy (Shelly) Huston; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins, including Terriann (Nick) Cummings to whom she was especially close.

Services for Sandy, officiated by Pastor Scot Caley, will be held at noon on Saturday, January 19, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Park Christian Church.
