Sandra Kay Abel

Sandra Kay Abel, 63, of New Philadelphia, formerly of the Twin City area, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia. Born September 19, 1954 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Lowell and Pearl DeMonde (Wagstaff) Marsh.

Sandra was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Claymont High School. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her surviving family which includes her children, Dawn (Brian) Deeds and Josh (companion, Ashley Hewison) Abel; grandchildren, Andre, Skyler, Wayne, Jaxson, Bryson, and Shayann; great grandson, Brantley; brothers, Robert Marsh and Richard (Brenda) Marsh; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Abel, and sister-in-law, Marilou Marsh.

Sandra’s family wish to express their deep appreciation for the excellent care she received at Schoenbrunn Healthcare. They are especially grateful to all of the nurses and aides who Sandra called “her other family”.

In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, cremation is planned without a visitation. A memorial service and celebration of her life is planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
