Samuel Joseph Geneva

Samuel Joseph Geneva, 74, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Heath Nursing Care Center in Heath, Ohio, after a long period of declining health. Born April 2, 1940 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Phillip Joseph and Mary (DiGenova) Geneva.

Sam attended Uhrichsville High School before beginning his career as a mechanic, working for several area filling stations and as a security guard. He was a former member of the Dennison Eagles and American Italian Club.

On June 22, 1968, he married the former Mary E. Weaver who preceded him in death on September 8, 1994 He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Ann Elizabeth Geneva, and a nephew, Ken “Connie” Geneva. He is survived by his brothers-in-law, James Weaver and David (Nova) Weaver of Uhrichsville, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services for Sam, officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held on Wednesday, December 10, at 11am in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Visitation will be 10am to 11am in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
