Sadie M. Orr

Sadie M. Orr, 86, of Tuscarawas, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia. Born October 12, 1931 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Almeda J. (Dawson) Reynolds.

On October 16, 1971, Sadie married James L. Orr with whom she enjoyed nearly 20 years of marriage until his passing on February 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Amber and Aubrey; brothers, Charles, Jasper, Vernon and Roy Reynolds; and sisters, Phyllis Richardson, Joanne Reynolds, Sylvia Jones, and Viola Walton. Her surviving family includes her stepchildren, James (Sandy) Orr, Rollin (Kathy) Orr, Jeffrey Orr, Shawna (Scott) Meyers, Lori (Steve) Hicks, and Martin (Kerry) Orr; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley “Jean” (Matt) Burnem and Ruth Crites; and brothers, Delbert Reynolds and Dale Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sadie was a lifelong Tuscarawas County resident who retired from Aamco Transmissions after 19 years of employment. She was a loving pet owner who was devoted to her many birds and cats over the years.

Services, officiated by Pastor Billy Hall, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery beside her beloved husband. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
