Ruth J. Sanders

Ruth J. Sanders, 86, of Port Washington, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Union Hospital in Dover. She was born March 14, 1931 in Clay Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Braun) Kadri. She is also predeceased by her husband, Herbert O. Sanders, whom she married June 20, 1947.

Surviving are four daughters and one son: Charlotte E. (Chuck) Potts of Newcomerstown, Janice E. Sanders of Dover, Ronna R. (Ed Hamlin) Harding and Alison J. (Robert) Kerns of New Philadelphia, and Gale F. (Melissa Campbell) Sanders of Port Washington. A son, Roger D. Sanders, is deceased. She is also survived by grandchildren, Angela, Kevin, Kelly, Stephanie, Ashley, Sarah and Vanessa; great-grandchildren, Von, D.J., Elizabeth, Kevin and Preston; step-grandchildren, Angela, Beth and Tanea; and step-great-grandchildren, Aaron, Rylee, Frank, Patrick, Shelby, and Bridget. One grandson is deceased. She is survived by a sister, June (Donald) Butler, and a brother, Norman (Cheryl) Kadri.

A private, family service is planned. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery on Gilmore Road, Port Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
