Ruth I. Serrato

Ruth Irene Serrato, 76, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away at her home on Monday, November 14, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Ruth was born June 19, 1935 in Newcomerstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of John Henry and Myrtle May (Randall) Wolff. Ruth is preceded in death by six siblings, Anna Mae Sundberg, Earl Wolff, Tom Wolff, Betty Lou King, Dorothy Kerr, Frances Wolff and Mary Louise Wilson. Ruth was the loving wife of Fidel "Frank" Serrato, who passed away March 6, 1992.

After growing up in the Newcomerstown area, where she attended Newcomerstown High School, Ruth spent many years living in Chicago, Illinois. She has resided in the Uhrichsville, Ohio area for more than twenty years. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and special friends, including Carol Fichter and Gloria Davidson, who have helped care for her. Ruth also enjoyed listening to music, watching classic movies and crocheting in her spare time.

Ruth is survived by a dear sister-in-law Norma Wolff of Chaparrel, New Mexico, and many nieces and nephews, including Linda Rainsberg of New Philadelphia, Edith & Keith Stafford of Huntsville, Alabama, Donald & Dawnmichele Wolff of Duncan, Oklahoma, Danny Wolff of Chaparral, New Mexico, Rita & Mickie Tidwell of El Paso, Texas, Francis & Pat Wilson of New Philadelphia, and Betty & Roger Lindsey and Margaret & Larry Lindsey of Mississippi. Ruth had many great nieces and great nephews, including Willard "Allen" Rainsberg and his wife, Charlotte, with whom she had resided, Marjorie & Kip Hursey of Newcomerstown, John & Darla Rainsberg of Columbus, Ohio, Dorothy Rainsberg of Newcomerstown, and Larry & Rebecca Tucker Jr., Christina Beesley, Victoria & Chad Esslinger, Tracy & Mike Kelley, and Matt Stafford, all of Alabama, and Roger King Jr., Dina King, Frank Wilson, Angel Wilson and Tricia Wilson, all of Ohio. Ruth had numerous great great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Ruth's wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or services. She will be interred with her sister, Anna Mae Sundberg, in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery.
