Ruth Ann Bentoski, 79, of Dover, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Union Hospital in Dover. Born April 23, 1941 in West Branch, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late George August Candy and Dorothy Marie (Gildner) Candy Fisher.

Ruth Ann grew up in West Branch where she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School. She later spent many years as a resident of Florida, then Virginia, before living in Ohio for the past several years. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she had worked as a cook for a residential facility, as well as for Cracker Barrel and Old Country Buffet. She was a talented seamstress who loved to sew, in her spare time. While living in Ohio, she attended Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison.

On January 30, 1960, Ruth Ann married Richard Valentine Bentoski with whom she enjoyed over 32 years of marriage until his passing on July 23, 1992. They are survived by their children, Karen Lafferty, Marcy (husband, Eric Theriault) Bentoski, and Richard (wife, Cindy) Bentoski, II; granddaughters, Amanda (Travis) Cabe, Amber Frenz, Erica (Dalton) Bentoski Marino, and Anastasia Bentoski; grandsons, Randall J. Lafferty, Justin Ratliff, and Richard A. Bentoski, III; and great-granddaughter, Zoey Marino. Ruth Ann is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Tinker and Mary Lou Fisher; brother, Victor Fisher; a large extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Cecil Fisher, who raised her like his own; brothers, James August Candy, Russell Candy, Arthur Candy, and Gerald C. Fisher; and sister, Marjory Jean Candy.

A private, family service, celebrated by Father Tom Gardner, will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
