Russell L. Prosperi

Russell L. Prosperi, 88, of Dover, passed away at his home on Friday, August 8, 2014, after a short illness. Born October 5, 1925 in Rush Township, he was a son of the late Attilio and Augustine (Ceureil) Prosperi. The last of his generation, Russell was also preceded in death by his siblings: Rev. Dominick “Mickey” and Rev. Lloyd Prosperi, Hubert Faes, Florence Prosperi, Mary Watkins, Jean Matthus, Margaret Butler, Vera Thompson and Lucy Romig; son, Ron “ The Dude” Prosperi; wife, Evelyn Prosperi who died in 1999; daughter-in-law, Rose Prosperi; and son-in-law, Art Huntsberger.

Russell is survived by a son, Rodney Prosperi of Strasburg; daughter, Althea Huntsberger of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter-in-law, Marcia Prosperi of East Sparta; grandsons, Doug (Heather) and Brian (Sarah) Prosperi; great-grandchildren: Dominic, Sophia, Mason, Kolton and Braxton with another expected; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A resident of Tuscarawas County for most of his life, Russell had worked in the local clay industry for many years. He attended Daystar Holiness Chapel in Dover. He loved spending time with his family, especially when they would go out to eat together and at family gatherings.

Pastor Jim Dougan will officiate a funeral service on Wednesday, August 13, at 1pm in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Daystar Holiness Chapel, c/o Mary Stover, 2131 Goshen Valley Rd.
