Rudolf J. Richter

Rudolf Josef “Rudy” Richter, 82, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, from Union Hospital in Dover. Born May 14, 1932 in Kriegsdorf, Sudetenland, he was a son of the late Rudolf and Bertha (Krisch) Richter.

A resident of the area since the early 50s, Rudy was a journeyman tool and die maker for a number of area manufacturing companies, including the former Warner and Swasey (Gradall Co.), Reeves, General Electric, Diebold, Perkins Engines, and Eaton Corporation.

On May 15, 1954, he married the former Ruth Elfriede Jekubzik who survives him at their home. He is also survived by their son, Rudy Richter of New Philadelphia, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Smith and Mitzi Kleiner.

According to Rudy’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at noon on Saturday, February 21, 2015, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
