A resident of Tuscarawas County for much of his life, Roy had lived in the Twin City area for the past fifteen years after moving from Dover. He was a retired coal miner who had worked in the Consolidated Coal’s Oak Park Mine near Cadiz.

Roy’s surviving family includes three children, Lisa Stutler-Shear of New Philadelphia, Troy Stutler of Uhrichsville, and Tonya Stutler of Dennison; two grandchildren, Sarah Shear and Brandon Furbay-Stutler; siblings, Barbara Tinney of Uhrichsville, Bill Stutler and his wife, Stella, of Uhrichsville, Carol Jean Rolince of Virginia Beach, Va., and Gene Pringle of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Donna, Nicole, Randy and Ronnie Tinney ; his beloved former wife, Sharon Stutler; and a dear friend, Cindy Armstrong.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two siblings, James Pringle and Blondina Lincolnhoger.

Roy loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed mushroom hunting and caring for his yard. He was also a devoted pet owner and will be sadly missed by his best buddy, Colynn, his canine companion.

In keeping with Roy’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County.
