Roy Lee Streeter

April 26, 1946 — October 8, 2011

On October 8, 2011, God opened up the Heavens and brought tears from above to mourn the passing of Roy Lee Streeter, Sr. Roy is welcomed into God’s kingdom alongside his parents, Edward and Sarah (Smith) Streeter; his brother, Wilbert Lippencott; and his sister, Sharon (Streeter) Coffey.

Roy was born April 25, 1946 in Dennison. Growing up throughout Tuscarawas County, he made Moores Ridge Road near Uhrichsville his home, calling it “God’s Country”. Roy worked as a farmer’s hand in his early years, and later worked long and hard as a coal miner. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-nephew and great-niece, taking them fishing, hunting, and just enjoying the outdoors. Roy also enjoyed country music and tinkering with cars.

His surviving family includes his four children, Brenda Streeter of Gnadenhutten, Corarena Streeter of Uhrichsville, Sarah Streeter of Euclid, O., and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Roy Streeter and his wife, Wendy (Weaver) Streeter, of Hawaii; his beloved grandchildren, Adam Grandison, Jenypher Wirth, Drake Haney, and Dylan, Kaylee and Lindsay Streeter; a great-nephew, John Coffey of the home; a great-niece, Ann Coffey of the home; his loving fiancée, Gwen Brannan; a loving sister, Shirley Streeter of Uhrichsville; and many nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Roy”.

To celebrate Roy’s life with his family, calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with interment following at Feedspring Cemetery in the beautiful hills near his home that he loved so much. A reception and celebration of his life will be held in the social hall of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville, immediately following the cemetery service.
