Roy Allen Shotwell

Roy Allen Shotwell, 58, a 23 year resident of Uhrichsville, Ohio died Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio. Born January 13, 1955 in Dover, Ohio, he was a son of the late Chalmers Wilson and Edna Pauline (Schaeffer) Shotwell. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Roy grew up in the Carrollton area where he attended Carrollton High School in the early 70s.

Roy is survived by four siblings, John E. (Linda) Shotwell of Carrollton, Richard R. (Carol) Shotwell of Malvern, Edna Davis of Carrollton, and George T. Shotwell of Winchester, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his friends and caregivers at Embers Home Health Care, Lois and Dennis Grandison, and at Stepping Stone, Brenton and Valerie Whitman.

In keeping with Roy’s wishes, he has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of his life, officiated by Pastor Randy Stull, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Charity Baptist Chapel, 3051 Sanders Church Rd., Gnadenhutten, OH 44629. Interment will be in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery at a later time.
