Ross Lindsey Miller

Ross Lindsey Miller, 92, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008 in Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, O., following a period of declining health.

Born April 12, 1916 in Uhrichsville, he was a son of the late Perry Milton and Nancy Belle (Wilcoxen) Miller.

A graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1934 and a member of Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church since he was eighteen years old, Ross was a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II before returning home to the Twin Cities where he was employed as a salesman for fifty years by the former Hicks Furniture Company.

Ross was an avid horseman and a member of the Keystone Saddle Club. He also enjoyed square dancing with the Star Promenaders.

The last of his family’s generation, Ross was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward U., Clarence T., Duane A. and Ewart P. Miller, and a sister, Thelma M. Roth. He was also preceded in death by a dear niece, Jean Ann (Roth) Shalosky.

He is survived by his longtime friend, companion and caregiver, Delores Reichman of Uhrichsville; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Miller; several nieces and nephews; and a number of great and great great nieces and nephews.

Services for Ross will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
