Rosie Patricia “Patty” Brownfield-Phillips, 75, of Barnhill, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, June 27, 2021, after a period of declining health. Born April 18, 1946 at her family’s home in Monroe County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Sherman Elijah and Clarice Dorothy (Farnsworth) Brownfield.
A local resident for most of her life, Patty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker who had also worked for Handy and Harmon for 16 years until her retirement. She was blessed with a green thumb and loved tending to her flower beds. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches in her spare time.
On October 18, 1963, Patty wed Jerry Dale Phillips with whom she enjoyed nearly 44 years of loving marriage until his passing on September 1, 2007. They are survived by a daughter, Teena Pulley with whom she had resided; grandson, Michael Pulley, and granddaughter, Kyrie Taralla, who were also her devoted caregivers; granddaughter, Janessa (James) McWilliams; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Taralla, Jossalin McWilliams, Trevyn Pulley, Gavin Pulley, and Jaxxon McWilliams. Patty is also survived by her brother, Hubert Emery Brownfield; sisters-in-law, Carol Brownfield, Janet Brownfield, and Dorothy Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Carrie Maletich and Cheryl Belknap. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Dale Phillips, II; brothers, Romulus, Dwayne, Donald, and Ralph; sisters, Mary and Amanda; and four infant siblings.
Services, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
