Rosemary E. Sharp

February 5, 1944 — December 3, 2009

Rosemary E. Sharp, 65, of Bowerston, O., passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 3, 2009.

Born February 5, 1944 in Dennison, O., she was a daughter of the late John Francis and Margaret Marcella (Haines) Taylor.

A resident of Bowerston for much of her life, Rosemary had also lived in Apopka, Fla. for twenty-five years before returning to Bowerston where she served her community as a former village councilwoman and as a poll worker for the election board. She was a graduate of Jewett High School in the class of 1962 and had also earned a certificate in medical billing from Belmont Technical College.

Rosemary had a talent for taking care of plants and flowers, and in addition to the beautiful plants she raised at home, she was employed by Frank’s Nursery in Florida for many years. She took an avid interest in Native American and tribal spirituality.

On October 3, 1969, Rosemary married William K. Sharp with whom she enjoyed twenty-seven years of marriage until his passing on November 30, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Moore who died in childhood.

Her surviving family includes three sons, Brian L. Moore of Dayton, Rex L. Moore of Cincinnati and Eddie Appleby of Florida; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Jared, Jessica, Trevor, Tyler, Troy, Caitlyn and Michalea; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a half sister, Vicky Vickers of Dennison, as well as a number of extended family members.

In keeping with Rosemary’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation. A memorial service and celebration of her life was held. Interment will be in Bowerston’s Longview Cemetery with her beloved husband.

Those wishing to honor Rosemary’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Vietnam Veterans of America or to their favorite local charity, in lieu of flowers. Rosemary’s family may be reached by contacting her son, Brian, at brimoore66@gmail.com.
