Rose Marie Mcconnell

Rose Marie McConnell, 84, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia. Born February 21, 1933 in Aultman, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Helen Magdalena (Kizler) Morber.

Immediately after her graduation from Uhrichsville High School in 1951, Rose began her 27 year career as a secretary for Universal Concrete. Later, she was a theater manager for the Bexley, Quaker and Cinema Center Theaters. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison for many years.

On June 27, 1953, Rose married Harry Floyd McConnell with whom she enjoyed over fifty years of marriage until his passing on October 17, 2003. They are survived by sons, Michael (Janet) McConnell and Randy (Wendy) McConnell; grandchildren, Cassandra Alyzan McConnell and Adam Christopher McConnell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Morber, and two grandsons, John Ross McConnell and Blake Alan McConnell.

A private, family graveside service will be held in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
