Rose Marie Copeland

August 31, 1941 — December 30, 2011

Rose Marie (Tantarelli) Copeland, 70, of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, after a brief illness. Born August 31, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Helen Margaret (Taffa) Tantarelli and Alfonso Tantarelli.

Rose devoted her life to her family whom she deeply loved. She was a wonderful cook and took great pleasure in caring for her home and garden. She especially treasured the time that she spent with her son, Rodney, and all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends who knew her from the years that she owned and operated Rosie’s Diner and worked at the Dollar General Store and Army-Navy Club.

Her surviving family includes a son, Rodney Copeland of the home; three daughters, Tina Pica of New Philadelphia, Valerie Willoughby of Dennison, and Kelly McMillen and her husband, Doug, of New Philadelphia; five granddaughters, Nicole and Nayla Pica, Danielle Piccin, Courtney Willoughby, and Macie McMillen; five great grandchildren, Eugene, Amya, Chealsey, Taylur, and Carmina; a sister, Phyllis Poletti and her husband, Dale, of Uhrichsville; three brothers, John Tantarelli of Uhrichsville, Tony Tantarelli of Columbus, and Vincent Tantarelli of Marengo, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Copeland and Edwin McKean; a sister, Mary Ann Milligan; a brother, Louis M. Tantarelli; a great-granddaughter, Ty-Yanna Marie; a niece, Rhonda Walker; and a nephew, Rex Milligan.

Services for Rose, officiated by Pastor Brian Flood, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
