Rose M. Kerschner 1942-2016
73, of Uhrichsville, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016, in the Community Hospice (Truman House) at New Philadelphia following a courageous 4-year battle with cancer.

Born December 27, 1942 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tommaso” and Rose (DeTorio) Petrarca. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony J. “Butch” Petrarca, and half-siblings, James and Charles Presutti, Alice Baker, Louise Pangrazio, and Virginia Aldergate.

Rose is survived by her three daughters, Diane Roth of Hebron, Kentucky, Cathy Roth of Dover, and Michele Kerschner of New Philadelphia. Rose also has three grandchildren, Elizabeth Farrow, Allison Roth and Johnathon Roth.

She was a 1960 graduate of Dennison High School who worked as a bookkeeper for the 7-Up Company, Harry-O-Express Trucking Company, and Truck Sales and Service. In a career shift, she took a position as a librarian at Dennison Public Library, where she worked until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed playing card games, shang-hi being a family favorite, and making many visits to her favorite restaurant, Pangrazio’s, for spaghetti and cheese sticks. She was a strong, beautiful woman inside and out who raised three daughters on her own. She faced every circumstance that came her way head-on and didn’t let anything stop her from being an amazing mother and provider. Bless her soul and may she forever rest in peace.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 12, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation for one hour prior to the service.
