Ronna Rae Mckibben

October 14, 1946 — March 30, 2013

Ronna Rae (Kinsey) McKibben, 66, of Tippecanoe, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, March 30, 2013 with her children by her side. Born October 14, 1946 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Ray and Martha Faye (Forsythe) Kinsey.

Ronna was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and “Gi-Gi” to her family whom she adored. She was a 1964 graduate of Lakeland High School. Ronna worked for many years as a beautician, and later retired as a chiropractor assistant to Dr. Robert Briggs, DC and the office of Belknap, Belknap & Briggs in New Philadelphia. She was also a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Ronna will be remembered and honored for her kind, generous and giving spirit, and for her deep-seeded love for her entire family.

On September 25, 1964, Ronna married the love of her life, Robert W. “Bob” McKibben. They enjoyed forty-three years of life, marriage and working their family farm together until his passing on February 2, 2008. Together they raised two children: R. Alan (Jo-Dee) McKibben of Tippecanoe and Becky (Craig) Taylor of Forest, Ohio. In addition to her children, Ronna is survived by: four grandchildren who adored her, Kortnee (Mike) Cameron, Zachary (Courtney) McKibben, and Janessa and Jayden Tayor; and five great-grandchildren who treasured their “Gi-Gi”, Brody, Emmalee and Kynsee Cameron, and Knox and Ellelynie McKibben.

Ronna will also be greatly missed by her sisters, Linda (Larry) McCleary, Donna Laughlin, Pat (Tom) Wells; brother, Jon Mark (Kris) Kinsey; mother-in-law, Inez McKibben; sister-in-law, Donna (Olin) Rippeth; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Dwight McKibben, and her brother-in-law, Bill Laughlin.

In keeping with Ronna’s wishes, a private family service, for immediate family only, will be held at a later date with interment alongside her beloved Bob in Deersville’s Patterson Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or by helping a friend or neighbor in need, in lieu of flowers.
